Being a better Affiliate Marketer
hymagMarketing, SEO and PR, Running a Home Based Business
Many people have tried Affiliate Marketing, and failed miserably. I have often heard people say that it is impossible to really make money with affiliate marketing.
It IS possible to make a success of it, but it takes a lot of hard work and there are many potholes along the road - don’t step in them.
Your main “job” is to get your message across to people, and that has to be done with an excellent Marketing Plan.
THE ART OF PROMOTING
Yes, believe me … there IS an art to promoting anything on the Internet. Promoting your Product is not a simple case of advertising blindly. Just like any offline business, you have to cover all of your basis in online promotion.
When you promote an offline business you have to consider many different aspects. You have to make sure that you catch everybody’s eye. You will find that some people read only magazines…some will read lighthearted magazines, others will go for the more informative ones that deal with facts in the form of informative articles. Others never buy a magazine, but like to read all the newspapers they can lay their hands on. Then you find those who don’t like reading much and watch television a lot. These are but a few examples of what to look out for when you advertise offline. The same criteria apply to online promoting. There are many different options, and you have to cover the entire spectrum, as there are many different kinds of people.
Whatever you decide, in my opinion, there is one thing that is an absolute must. One thing that nobody should even try to do without!! Most people who succeed on the internet have one critical thing in common… their own responsive opt-in list.!! It’s an essential tool and without it, you may as well give up any thought of success. Stop wasting time!! You have to build a relationship with the people on your list, making friends with them before even trying to sell something to them. Lead with the relationship, not the sale. If you do that, you will have a responsive list, because they will trust you as a friend. They will also be more likely to buy from you, rather than from someone else.
To get people to subscribe to your list, you need to offer them something of value… preferably free to start off with, like a good newsletter or ezine from which they can gain knowledge. Offer them something that THEY can benefit from. You have to gain their confidence by proving to them that you are sincere, and then you can promote any product you choose to them.
You will need a Lead Capture Page to collect their contact information, and an Autoresponder to automate your messages to your subscribers. A blog is an excellent place to add a webform to capture contact details of potential subscribers to your newsletter or ezine.
Of course, to get people to subscribe to your list you need to advertise, and this is where the art comes in. You have to cover every avenue. A lot of your options will depend on your budget. There are many free, as well as low cost options.
Choose your options well, and you are sure to succeed.
Here are some suggestions for you to look at. In the near future I will be discussing these option in more detail.
