Your Success in Life Depends on Building Relationships!

Wow, that is certainly a powerful statement, isn’t it?  Stop and think about it . . .

•85% of a person’s happiness in life comes from happy interactions with others
•85% of a person’s unhappiness comes from the difficulties they have in getting along with others
•The number one skill used by 10% of all top money earners in every field is the ability to get along with others.

Do what you say you are going to do, doing it when you say you are going to do it, arrive for appointments at the scheduled time, on time, every time are some of the first steps you can take in building a solid professional relationship.

As you develop these relationships, prospects and clients will begin to tell others about you and how you helped them, providing a good, strong referral for you.  After all, who would want their good name and reputation attached to a person that is focused only on making that almighty dollar!  Quick sales are just that, one time and gone.  Wouldn’t you want to have repeated sales coming to you time and time again?  People will buy, repeatedly buy, from those they know, like and trust.

In business, you can make more money by taking the time to develop relationships with your prospects, getting to know them, and finding out what difficulties or challenges they are facing and then helping them find ways or resources to solve those problems.
Now that you have built these wonderful professional relationships, nurture them, follow-up with them – don’t take them for granted.  We’ll talk in later posts about some of the best ways you can keep in touch, some are very easy and others take a little work on your part.  However, in the end, it’s very worthwhile to build those relationships!  Your success depends on it!

What do you do to build relationships – what are some of the steps you follow, what qualities or traits do you look for in people before you begin to develop those relationships?  What successes are yours as a result of those relationships?  Do you have a success story for your business that resulted from a carefully developed and nurtured relationship?  If so, please share it with us!
