Passion Is Everywhere!
drsallywittMotivation, Mindset and Wellness, The Passion Project
In the last 24 hours or so, I have thought of the concept of Passion often, and in different ways.
I wanted to listen to Katherine Reschke’s radio program today, the Passion Project. I was in a hurry to log in, so I just searched in Blog Talk Radio’s website for “Passion Project”. There were a number of programs that came up besides hers that have the words in the show description.
I was invited to learn about a Passion Party for nice but naughty things to buy to impress my husband on one of my ning groups by email.
I turned on the television after 10pm this week after the children of the house went to bed. Even though the channel that had been left on the cable was educational, the program shocked me at first - it was an educational show about orgasms on the Discovery Channel. Passionate, yes.
Every day, every hour, I either exchange emails or chats, or phone calls with people that are passionate one way or another about something. Some of them are life-affirming and lovely thoughts, while others use their passion in ways that make me want to protect myself.
There was a fun way for me to be passionate about sharing my experiences this week. The Yelp website was confusing to me at first, what would I ever write about? what would I review? Then I noticed a restaurant that I love came up on the site, so I shared that sentiment. Then there were two places that had made me really mad separately over the years, yes, I shared the whole sorry story on each of their review pages. Now I feel better. Since I got the hang of it, I wrote excellent and positive reviews for a bunch of other places, too.
Passion comes in many forms, and is really everywhere. Passion for your work, passion for your family, romantic passion, for me - passion for my pets as well! Passion for my friends, passion for our hobbies. Passion for life. Wanting to wake up tomorrow and be amazed with the good, bad, ugly, surprising, wonderful, hateful, and fantastic world that we live and work in. Finding the miracle in a glass of orange juice. Appreciating the small things and big things. Loving, sharing, and living every day.
